In the early morning hours on Saturday June 10th, the Highline Bridge on the Frisco Highline Trail over the Sac River was destroyed by fire. As of June 14, 2006 the only information available is that arson has been determined to be the cause.
A reward of $5,000 is being offered by the managing organization, Ozark Greenways, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.
Ozark Greenways is committing to rebuild the bridge at an estimated cost of $150,000. Businesses are offering their support and fundraisers are underway. The Polk County Bike Club is planning a fund raising event for August 5th.
